The Short Mom

“People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.”

“When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.”

“When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you expressed.”

These quotesby prominent career and business coach Kate Windebank rings so true. If you take a moment and think about a person in your life, how you met them and how your relationship has evolved you will know how right Kate is.

As a little girl, I followed and believed in what my mom and grand ma taught me. I used to look forward to my school holidays just so I could meet my grandparents in Kerala, the southern tip of India, and listen to their virtuous life stories. There was surely something very special about those moments. When I got married, it was to a family from north India. I found a mother-in-law who had her cultural values deeply embedded in her. She often shared stories of her daily practices and routines that her grandmother had taught her.

I am proud that I share the amalgamation of two beautiful Indian cultures with my son Reyansh. I realize, he was the big REASON that I found the best woman as my Mother-in-Law.

I am so grateful to my family and specially the two wonderful mothers in my life.Ihave created this blog page to celebrate and share all those cultural values from various stages and people of our lives.

If I’m a strong mommy (who doesn’t get petrified when theirkidskids while running around wounding themselves or cut their tiny finger playing) it’s all because I have the back of two strong women in my life – My mother-in-law who looks at life more practically and my mom who is more emotional. This blog is all about how grateful I’m to people I know in this life
